coast. Mr. MacKay's personal for

The MacKay system extends two
thirds around the world, , from
France and Germany through the
United States to China. Its land
system In this country connects
with the Canadian Pacific railway
telegraphs in Canada and with the
Mexican Bystem. Through the Com
mercial Cable company it operates
seven cables between Europe and
America' and one between Miami
and Havana. The Commercial Pa
cific Cable company, in which the
MacKay interests have a substan
tial Interest, operates a cable from
San Francisco to Manila and one
from Manila to Shanghai.

is the tim'e of the eighteenth annual
meeting of the National' Council
of lloy Scouts of America. This Is
the first time that this gathering
of the volunteers ln the scout
movement have ever met- oh the
Pacific coast, and a large attend
ance is expected.
