This club has been one or tho most active In tho county and lias a fine history of helpful community endeavor. The Indies of the Upper Valley Com munity club met. Tuosday afternoon at the homo of Mrs. C. A. Drown for candy making. Some 18 members of tho club wero present and under the supervision of the county demonstra tion agent, Miss Ada Hrewster, .manu factured a large quantity of candy for the use of tho club at the Christmas season and some for individuals. John Churchman, son of Min. Elsie Churchman of Union street, has re turned to Ashland from Ileddlng. where ho lias been working for two months. V. C.
