After" posing for four years as Dr. John Akin Flanders, serving as mayor of Konal for three years, and ministering to the medical needs of Vannory employes at Bristol Hay and Kenul, Rudolph Griess, lurmer Chi cago medical student, was here today on his way to spend a year and a (lay at tile federal penitentiary on Mc Neil's island. Griess was convicted at Seldovia for violations of Alaska narcotic laws, inter admitting during the course of a trial on a statutory charge that he was not the man ho pretended to be. Dr. John A. Flanders, who is said to be a physician In Chicago, was Griess' roommate at Loyola college medical school in 1919, Griess testi fied. Using Dr. Flanders' name lu Ban Francisco in 1921, Griess obtained employment as a doctor for Libby, .McNeill & Llbby canneries at Uristol Hay and Kenai. Griess wus acquitted of the statu tory charge. 14-YEAR-OLD GIRL IS MEMBER OF HOLD-UP GANG, SEVEN ARRESTED RAX FRANCISCO, Nov. 4. (A. p.) His statements involved Fred Richardson, 21, who admitted a part in the hold ups, police said. Both Richardson and Kmmons, however, absolved the third youth under arrest, Harold Houghton, 18. Watt of Medford and Jenn Donald Young of Chicago, 111., were united in marriage November 23 at 2 P. M. In the First Presbyterian church of Portland. Uov. Weston F. Shields of Wallowa, Ore., was the offi ciating minister. Mr. Watt Is one of the successful fruit growers of the Hogue river valley and has been for many years' one of the substantial men in promoting the material and spiritual interests of that section of the state. : Mrs. Watt Is a native of Scotland and came to America first on a visit and then to make America her home.
