S. army recruiting station, will leave Thursday for Aberdeen, Wash., where he has been transferred from this city, following an uninterrupted duty of two nnd one-half years. Sergeant Peter Albip of Portland arrived yesterday with his family to take charge of the local station. During his stay here Sergeant Owen had made many friends who will regret his leaving. The sergeant has been 1 nthe nrmy for 15 years, served two years in Siberia, five in the Philippine Inlands, and has been on duty in ull parts of the United States. , The transfer to Aberdeen Is a form of promotion in recognition of his efficient Bcrvices here, he having en listed, it Is said, several hundred men.
