Medford City Schools. The city's school population from grades one to eight is served by four elementary schools. These, however, are not all located in the present population centers of the city. Under tho crowded conditions this year we 'shall need to fill all buildings to capa city. Naturally, some injustice will be worked on puolls who are asked to travel the greater d'stance, but we In tend that this be no greater than is necessary. Forest SHEEP SHOW TO BE 5 FEATURE OF FAIR A sheep show, cmphaslxin? both the mutton and wool breeds, wilt be one of the outstanding features of the big livestock show at the Jackson County Industrial Fair, Medford, Sep tember 1 6 to 19. That sheep raising is proving prof itable to farmers hereabouts is proved Ijry the large number of entries already received. Many fine typos of anlmuls will bo shown. The promlum list, re cently distributed, recognizes the Ramboiiillets, Hhropshlres, Hamp shire", fcotswolds, Uncolns. riommeys and F4 Sheep. Liberal prize money is being offered by the fair mana ment. as well as ribbons and trophies. The main reason why thono who have the good of agriculture at heart are urging' farmers to hiIho sheep Is tne nign market prices that have pre vailed the post your. "Greater diversification in llvostock raising", is the slogan of fair officials ths year. They aro ' urgng every farmer to raise, at least a few sheep, i They point out that a small flock of sheep will convert tho weeds of ,tho farm Into meat and wool, by produc ing a fleece In the spring and a latuh crop In the fall. Little grain and shelter aro needed to keep a flock In good shape. Sheep can be fattened on a bigger percentage of roughage than any other farm animal. Superintendent Earl Now by, who is making the arrangements for the show, has received entries from rev era! now exhibitors. He Is prepared to handle an overflow in case .ne en Ifries run heavier than ts expected.
