Kit z.si in ninns, packing - an agreement signed hy J)empney to box the negro arranged for another conference today. Mul ling nlKO booked hlniself for a session with Rickard at -which they planned to take up both the Tunney and Dempsey fights. Jack Kearns, who is manager of Dempsey. ' ' These forecasts threatened to touch off a counter bomb In California. Dempsey, nettled by the action of "the New York boxing board in declaring him ineligible for delaying the Wilts negotiations, has' stricken New York state off tho list as a possible ' scene for the defense. of his title. He has alHO rejected Kearns.; Since the latter still holds a contract ns the cham pion's managtM, prospect 'ofthrowing the situation in n complete jumble loomed as an almost certain outcome of fulfillment of Kearns' promise. . . Mulllns was 'inclined to sidetrack the Tunney issue in favor of the pros, pect of clinching the Dempsey fight. Rickard intimated that the biggest pur?e ever offered Wills was awaiting the signature of the negro's manager to a contract to fight the New York heavyweight, did it not tempt Mulllns. As. a matter of fact. Mulllns ad mitted he could not he tempted by anything so long ns Wills continued to remain ubsent in 'Europe.
