Under tho croft work one saw daity. specimens of book binding, of tye dyelnR, batik, Swedish darning, block printing, stencilling, costume designing, ami 'also the fin ished product, lovely gowns all ready to wear. The Commercial Drawing and Public School methods deport ment displayed a wonderful collection of the work of the pupils: posters, let tering, pencil, water etflor. Ink and oil, all made a most-unusual showing. t'nder the department of interior decoration, a wonderful display of tex tiles mode a delightful setting for the exhibit from that department; artis tic lamp shades, notebooks by the pu pils, and, by the way the notebooks were worth more than a cusory glance for in these books wns the seume of tho course, from floor plan to the finished room, complete In every de tail, indicating a -rather complete ! knowledge In house furnishing and j arrangement. j The Landscape and Still Life exhibit was especially noteworthy, made up itf the work of the pupils under the di rector. What might have been a very se rious affair occurred Tuesday in 'the park, when a vicious dog attacked Mrs. Harriet Fielding near the children's playground. Had it not been for the quick work of bystanders Mrs. Field ing would have been severely injured. No one is supposed to take dogs In the park except on leash, and' any dog, loose, may be taken to the pound. , The Llthians expect to feature sev eral real stunts at the community pic nic next Thursday, chief of which has to do with the Initiation of new mem hers. It is expected that there will he a thousand people present at the picnic. Tickets will be placed on sale poon. Entries close for the ten nis tournament Monday noon. There hove been 45 entries received so far and at least te nmnre are expected be fore the entry list closes. Mrs. J. H. McGee and Raymond Mc Cee are in from the Lake of the Woods for a few days, as are Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Vining. All expect to re turn to the lake later. Mr. Vining has just completed one of the coziest little cottages on' the lake shore.
