Tho reception given tor the students of the summer session of the Normal was well attend ed and a very successful affair, with the Chamber of Commerce and the Civic club Joint hosts. J. II. Puller, nocrotary of tho -chamber presided. Mrs. J. H. Fuller. Mrs. George A. Briscoe, Mrs. Gordon MacCrackcn and others were In the receiving line. A number of the ladles from the two or ganizations were present to greet the strangers. The majority, of tho fac ulty and student body of tho summer Normal attonded. Mr. and Mrs. Arlhur Hicks of John Day are guests at tho homo of Mrs. Hicks' parents, Ml-, ami Mra. William Myer. They arrived Monday night, and will bo hero a fortnight. Mrs. Hicks was Miss Ilernleo Myer, ono of Ashland's popular girls and a graduate of U. of O. Mrs. H. C. Oaley wllh tho Misses Bl len Mary and John Claley wore visitors III Medford yesterday. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Wallaco of Chll. llcothe, Ohio, aunt and uncle of the Itov. 8. J. Chnnoy are guests at the Parsonage. They all left for tho Cra ter take trip Thursday where a num ber of days will bo spent. This In tho first visit of Mr. und Mra. Wallaco to Oregon. Mr. and Mra. A. K.
