Preliminary tests showed that, with tho motor running wide open, a man could lift tho 1GO0 pound machine from the floor with one hand. It was found that tho motor was not getting a full throttle of gasoline, however, because tho air Intake was In tho vacuum created between the opposing propellers. The plan of tho' helicop ter Is two airplanes facing with the motor between them. While running the motor creates a vacuum in the center of tho machine and throws tho collected air out towards the opposing wings- The air reaching the wings at a velocity of more than 100 miles nn hour, creates the lift to tho pianos and the machine, It Is hoped through that agency, can be sent Into tho air.
