Phoenix High school teamwork has greatly improved over their- previous starts and they will bear close watching for the rest of the season.. Churchill. This was dono because she violated her con tract with the school board, as during tho Christmns vacation period by accepting a teaching position In Cali fornia, nnd did not return. The board's first intimation of this statu of affairs came In her telegraphed resignation rrom California. The state superintendent has not yet acted on the ease of Miss Mar garet Lea of Seattle who taught at the Lincoln school nnd later at the Wash ington school, nnd who two days be fore tho Christmas vacation left with out warning, and did not return. Superintendent Churchill's decision In this case has been postponed until March 15. It Is understood that the local school board nnd officials have reuommended that her stale teachers' certificate also bo revoked.
