An offer to ilupllcuto his SIOO.OOO prize to the tiuthur of any peace plan, selected by the senate committee investigating porpaKamlu as the best to come with in Its notice, has been made by Edward V. Bok. In a letter to Sen ator Moses, republican, New Hamp shire, chairman of the committee. "I will ulsrj agree," Mr. Bok wrote, "to defray the expenses of a nation wide referendum, if desired, and in all respects give the plan which your committee selects the same financial support accorded by me to the pres ' ent plan." With regard to the cost of the American peace award campaign, its backer declared he did not have the definite information required by the committee, hut suggested that Cor nelius N. Rliss, treasurer of the award should be summoned. What is doubtless the last echo of the celebrat ed Wenime estate case in the Oregon supreme court was heard recently when the court handed down an oral opinion denying a motion of Attorneys Tom Mannix and Dan Powers of Port land for a correction of the mandate. Tho attorneys wanted the mandate changed to remove the limitation of attorney's fees, leaving the fees to be fixed by the Judge of the lower court. Other opinions were: C. C. Sturtevnct vs. George H.
