Upwards of $100,000,000 will be spent in the making of motion pictures in south ern California during tho coming year according to film company officials here. Warner Brothers' Hollywood studio which recently suspended operations, today announced that . production would be resumed January 7, in pur suance of a 1924 program calling for expenditures of more than $6,000,000 and other producing organizations made public their plans for what thoy predicted would bo a year of record activity. Sperry Glacier, studied by Protes tor "Waterman, has lost one-quarter, or perhaps one-third of Its Ico in the past 18 years, ho suld. if this rapid retreat should continue, tho profes sor added, the glacier would almost disappear in another 25 years, but he expressed the opinion that tho long dry seasons of the . past few years is over with probabilities of a lessening in the retreat.
