Llndley, vice president of the Amer ican National bank, has made friends with the pelicans around Ling river bridge, and each morning he feeds them a handful of table scraps. This morning, however, the pelicans were far down the lake, and the mudhena started to gobble the feed. But a huge fish, apparently a trout, came to the surface with a slash, snatched a tidbit and disappeared, frightening the mud- hens away.
