Logan, widow of tho gone ral who nt one time during the Civil war commanded the Union- army of tho Tennesseo nnd later was a United States senator from Illinois, died here today of influenza after a ten days Illness. Shu w.ih 84 -years old. Mrs. Logan was married in 18j8, her husband 'comlng to' Washlngto.i two 'years later as a member of the house of representatives. ' During tne Civil war she frequently visited him at the battle front and wat active in relief work among the wounded. " Since her husband's death in 1S86, Mrs. Logan had written extensively on Civil war happenings and other historical matters. She was a world wide traveler and collected a valuable group of war souvenirs and trophies as a memorial to her son, Major-John A. Logan, who was killed in battlo in tho Philippines in 1899.
