Furry were among the lucky ones at the Elks Christmas raffle last Saturday even ing, and each wone several baskets. Joe won one fine turkey and a fat lien, and Art won two turkeys. They have their birds in cold storage in Medford. Mrs. C. Caroy has several fine young Light Urahma roosters which aro prize wllners and aro the largest birds she has ever raised, although she has been breeding Brahmas for the past fifteen years. Some of tho hens from which those birds were raised weighed thir teen and a halt pounds, nnd the male bird fifteen. ' Miss Mabel Hearn and her brother Borthold Hcarn are home from their college work during the holiday vaca tion. Berthold Is in his father's Btore at Phoenix during his stay at home. Mr. Webster whose home Is 'west of Phoenix, made the trip over to Klam ath Falls and, hack last week. He says It is not a very pleasant trip at this time of the year, tout that he made- it without much trouble. Mrs. Fred Kapp and her sister, Mrs. Lawrence Crawford, were In Medford Tuesday doing their Christmas shop ping. Both are residents of Talent. J. M. Rader has Just commenced to feed his cattlo, which have been doing woll on the range thus far. Mr. Rader has a lot of good hay which ho bought from N. Chandler and Lloyd Colver. days. Mr. InKleH has been using a bobsled to haul loirs to the Aiken mill, but it looks as if ho will hare to Bo bayk to the truck before many days. . Our school district is preparing to put up a playshcd ut the Prospect school. It is going to bo some build ing when finished. Tho Prospect high school is pro gressing under the management of Mrs. Arnold. Mrs. Mlddlcbusher, our grainnicr school teacher, treated herself to n new pnlr of skis when out to town a few days ago. And believe me she knows how to use them. Tho teachers and pupils of the prospect scohol are preparing a pro gram and Xnias tree for next Friday evening at the schoolhouse. We are quite sure it will be a success, under the management of Mrs. Arnold and Mrs. Mlddlcbusher.
