The Ladies' Aid society has'been asked to have charge of the Phoenix exhibit at the county fair, so a good exhibit is as sured, as the men of the community are already taking a big interest in some big specimens to be shown. The plans will be made at the next meeting. The missionary society will hold its August meeting at the manse on Wed nesday, Aug. 16. A full attendance is urged as the subject, "Africa," taken from the fourth chapter of "The King dom and the Nations," is being well prepared. Rader and John Rader went out to their mountain ranch last Mon day. They were accompanied by the Misses Jeanette Sheets and Twilla Binkey. They all rode horseback on the trip, remaining one day at the ranch. A. H. Hearn and Mr. Carless return ed from the Lake of the Woods last .Monday after a, weeks pleasant stay. Mrs. F. E. Furry and her daughter, Miss Sybil, came In with Mr. Hearn, and the next day he took Mrs. Hearn and Miss Fay Carver out to the lake to have a vacation. I Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Thompson of Willow Springs, were guests of Mrs. Wm. Carless of Phoenix last Sunday. Mrs. Thompson had spent the week end as she does most every week, with her mother. Mrs. T. H. Fish. Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Ward of Phoenix. left the first of the week for Lake of the Woods, where they have a summer cottage. Mr. and Mrs. Mack of Phoenix, have one of the finest blackberry patches in this part of the valley. The vines are literally loaded with the luscious fruit. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Frame are smil ing over the arrival of a grandson, born to their son Dana and wife.
