vision at Washington, D. C. 'He ar

Because of the limited time which
Mr. Lee has in Oregon, the automo
bile dealers of Roseburg, Grants Pass,
Klamath Falls and Ashland as well
as members of the Chambers of

which will tnke place at the Medford
Hotel tomorrow , noon.

Leaving Rosebiirg' ' Wednesday
morning at 7 o'clock, ' the caravan
covered two long, steep and winding
detours', one front Mry tie Creek to
Canyortvllle and the other 1 around
Smith Hill, reaching Grants Pass at
8 o'clock last night. Some difficulty
was experienced In making a few of
the extremely sharp turns, but at no
time, was the caravan Btalled for
lack- of power. " -
An especially Interesting feature
of this show is the Lincoln chassis.
At all. points along the line great
crowds have turned out to see the big
car, and after participating in a local
parade, the Lincoln' will be available
for further inspection upon the pre
mises of the C. E. Gates Auto Co.
A complete list of the equipment
included In the, caravan? is, as follows:

curtains on truck, light delivery,
panel body truck, open express and
truck stake bodies. In addition, the
carrivan carries its own broadcast
ing and recoiving set, a motion,' pic
ture machine, a Delco lighting plant
and other special features of an edu
cational, instructive and entertain
ing nature. '
Demonstrations will be made at a
number of points instead of assemb
ling and holding the entire; equip
ment at any single place. Caravan
headquarters, , however, will be es
tablished at the Natatorium . camp
grounds, from which point the C. 10.
Gates Auto company will provide
frea transportation from the camp
grounds to the scene of each and
every demonstration in which any
person may In interested.
Persons wishing to see a demon
stration of any single piece of equip
ment should communicate with the
C. E.. Gates Auto Co. .in ample time
to complete arrangements for an ade
quate demonstration. There will be
no charge of any kind for special
demonstrations, but the two days'
schedule will be somewhat crowded
owing to requests already received.
A detailed announcement of dem
onstrations already provided for, to
gether with the location of each dem
onstration, will be announced In to
morrow's Mail-Tribune.
The caravan comprises 28 units op
erating under their own power, ex
clusive of additional units mounted
on or drawn by trucks or tractors.
About 40 men are with the show, and
so keen has been the Interest arous
ed en route south that elaborate
perparutiojis have been made for the
caravan's reception on the return
tour at which time from one to three
days will be Bpent at e.-uh stopping
place. The fact of the caravan hav
ing held so closely to Its scheduled
time gives assurance that all date's
will be filled on time, it having been
conclusively demonstrated that no
detour or stretch of road between
here and 'Portland Is too difficult for
the caravan, '

Jack Holt at Rialto
It seems natural to associate,, the
South Sea Islands with days ' and
nights of languorous ease and an un
broken succession of untroubled
thoughts. But there are other view
points; a fact most forcibly Illustrated
at the Rialto theatre yesterday, when
"The Man Unconquerable," a Jack
Holt picture received its Initial prcson
tation. Atmospherically, the picture is al
most as good as a trip down into the
southern seas, for it has the settings
and locations of that part of the world
reproduced with an ad here tee to de
tail that is quite delightful. In action

in a few words is the belief that after
people die there is a conscious entity
commonly called the soul, jKissessing
intelligence and abiding in It higher

alistic and material agencies can com
municate with the living. It Is not to
be denied that some very remarkable
revelations have been made through
spiritualistic ngencleg. While somo
are frauds and humbugs It is neverthe
less true that there is more to spirit
ualism than Is commonly given to its
credit because of the ignorance on the
part of the people as to Its truo character.
It Is easy enough for those who have
never looked Into It from tho stand
point of either experience or study to
pooh-pooh it. Ridicule neither proves
your intelligence nor gets rid of the
very remarkable things produced thru
its, agency, - It presents an array of
testimony that will cause the most
sober-minded to stop and (consider; its
power of deception lies in' Its ability to
produce facts that are Undeniable.
When men of the type of Professor
Hyslop of Columbia, Sir Oliver Lodge,
and Wlllinm T. Stead who after years
of study, Into psychical manifestations,
declare their positive belief in spirit
ualism; the effect Is but natural that
the cult would gain many adherents,
and it Is bound to be the greatest de
ception of modern times.

from other peoples he gave them ex

to find. The subject of spiritualism
resolves Itself into a simple question
of whom we will believe God's word
or man's word.
Pretending to bring.-, to 'humanity
light ot a higher realm of knowledge,
the results of spiritualism are visible
in the sundering of marital ties and
the wrecking or;homes;' the rilling or
insane asylums and or suiotdes graves.
Its dangerous chnracterjs admitted by
some or its eminent exponents, such
as Arthur Conan Doyle and Hereward
Carrington.
The scriptures warn us that Just
prior to the coming or Christ, Satan
will work in our world 'with all power
and signs and lying wonders.' Unclean
spirits will 'go rorth unto the kings of
the earth and of the whole world, to
gather them to the battle of that great
day of God Almighty." Surely It was
for such a time as this that these
words of Inspiration were given us."
