I so Inquiries for hay from outside districts are more plentiful. 1 On the evening ot December 2"th the sad news of the death of Marys Collins at the Sacred Heart hospital : reached this neighborhood and al-i though it was known for some time! that she was In a critical condition ! the news of her passing cast a gloom ' over our entire community. Little Mary, as she was fondly called among her friends, cams to this neighborhood with her parents and brothers and sisters when but six yearn of age, from Vancouver, Wash. Since that time she .had grown to womanhood among us and with her bright and happy smile, cheerful dis position and winsome ways had won a'place in the hearts of all her neigh bors, both young and old and count less others throughout the valley with whom she had chanced to meet. During the past few years she hadj played the part of mother to her I brother and little sisters while acting as housekeeper for her father. A long procession of sorrowing friends followed the remains to the Jacksonville cemetery, where she was laid to rest on December 29th, In a grave bedecked with beautiful flow era, besides her mother who had pro ceeded her six years before. To the relatives left to mourn the neighborhood offers its deepest aym- pathy and shares with them in their! grief. a ommiiPitv had b!ler leadership departed for their homes.
