It is safe to say that ninety jier cent of the visitors from outside the state will visit Crati-r Lake before their return, and necessarily they will spend some time and money in Southern Oregon. It is not too early, therefore, to consider the accommodations to be offered the thousands of tourists who will visit this section not only in 1!IJ.". but in the intervening years. The time to prepare is now. A tour alonjj the Pacific Highway will convince any impartial person, that Medford is far down on the list, in the way of an at tractive and comfortable auto camp ground. Grants Pass has a camp ground on the Kogtie Kiver amid a grove of trees, Kosebiir' has camp ground viewing the grass banked 1'mp oua. KugeiM'Vs camp ground is delightfully situated and splendidly equipped. Salem has a most attractive camp ground, in the heart of tile city, so has Albany ami Corvallis. Ashland's camp ground has a Mate-wide reputation, Medford alone has no camp ground worthy of tiie name, or worthy of its reputation, as a progressive and enter prising town. The auto eamp ground is now a permanent tourist feature. Its importance in the program of community development, will increase steadily in the future. No city along the Pacific Highway can ex pect to get its proper share of the tourist, revenue, if it hasn't an auto camp ground that will compare favorably with the standard maiiitain i d by other cities of its size along the Pacific coast. The time is ripe for Medford to get one. Ye Smudge Poi ly Arthur lerr Quill Points Apparently the locks of the Panama (.'anal are not on the plaei when- ihc money is kept. The kidneys do their utmost to In, the blood of this irritating acid, but become woak from tlio overwork; they get sluggish; the eliminativo tissues cloq and thus tho waste is retained in the blood to poison the entire system. OU'D think, from reading searehead titles about the carnival of crime, that all are headed for the jails,' and few men tread the! paths sublime. It's always pleasing to reflect that where one fellow wields a gun, a thousand .'men. with aims correct, are ply-' ing bucksaws in the sun. Where one goes forth yn stealthy feet to croak a stranger for his wad. u thousand gents are threshing wheal, or plowing' up the virgin sod. The gunman makes, the breezy tale that gives pale moralists the blues; the thousand farm ers in the vale don't draw it sentence in the news. Wrong is the reader who believes that all the world is on the blink because some libertines and thieves are figuring in crimson ink. A lot of us still live our lives as though there were a moral law; we jog along with our own wives, and sanely use the wage we draw. A lot of us still go to church, and bank upon the good and true, nor flinch if of ficers would search our cellars for a home nuule brew. The ras cals kick up lots of dust, and they are insolent and bold; but all the lime (he good and just outnumber them a thousand fold. HGW MUCH DO YOU KNOW? 1.
