While the GO TO CHUrtCH movement has been sweeping the country like a prairie fire, there are found In every community men who seek to belittle it, To these men a special appeal here is made. What would the country be without Its churches?. What would It be without religion? Just ponder for a minute. There would be an era of lawnessness and crime that would bo awful to contemplate. Even unbelievers will admit that the churches benefit a com munity. Of course there may be some people who GO TO CHURCH lust for the appearance Of things. But happily there are thousands who are sincere In their religious belief and their worship of God. These people help to make this glorious country what it is. StatlBticB show that there Is a MINIMUM OP CRIME in communities where there are plenty of churches. Henny, who re signed October 13th, sending the fol lowing letter to State Engineer Cup per: Dear Sir: On the ltfth of October Mr. Hehny, as you know, telegraphed the Board of Directors of the -Medford Irrigation district resigning as consulting engineer. The board did not take any action in the matter at the time hoping that when Mr. Henny returned to his office and found that the board had appointed an engineer the day before he wired, that he might be willing to reconsider and not resign. ' But on his return we received a letter from him confirming his wire of the 13th Inst., resigning as con sulting engineer. ' The Board of Directors of the Med ford Irrigation district would like to get in touch with some competent engineer, to act as consulting engi neer for the district and if you can recommend some one whom you feel Is qualified to fill the place we would appreciate It. The work seoms to be progressing very well under the plans approved by Mr. Henny and yourself, but we would like to have a competent en gineer to consult with Mr. Cowgill in case there should be anything come up that required it. .-- ' Yours truly, ' . i: J. A. PERRY, . i President Board of Directors Med Iford Irrigation District.
