Tho local corre spondent of tho Portland Journal sent a telegram to that paper last Tuesday, saying the burning Barnum hotel was doomed because of low water pressure, and an Ashland paper of the same date published a telephone message from Medford to the same effect. Chief Lawtpn, the firemen and most all of the thousands who witnessed the fire know that there was a plentiful supply of water, which was sent with nil the force desired through the seven hose streams the firemen played on the flames.
