Action of the New York lederal reserve bank in reducing its re-discount rate from 7 to G'.i per cent reflects a tendency towards relaxation in re-iliscou:tt rates in other reserve districts. Seep.-.- Itary Mellon said today. lie said he thought it probable the t'hieugo re serve board might anticipate the crop .movement season with a rale reduc tion. Tile treasury secretary said finan cial conditions over the country ap peared to be very touch better. With business slack, he explained, the banks have nut as much need for money as they are not making as many loans. PORTLAND. Ore., May 5. The Building Construction Tmployers as sociation announced today that It would, allow its various groups of employers to sign agreements with the unions. Strike of the painters', sheet metal workers' and electrical workers' unions was called as a re sult of failure of the contractors to take steps toward formation of some sort agreement simultaneously with the' cut of 10 per cent in wages as recommended by a board of arbi tration. The action of tho building construc tion Employers association will . be presented to tho building trades coun cil this afternoon. Fred Ucani, presi dent of the council declared that the acceptance or rejection of the plan of the employers would depend on the action of tlie individual unions. The meeting at the school house auditorium April 22, was for tho pur pose of discussing one of the new nni'.ndmeiits, 216, that comes up for the neople to vote on at the next eloc tioi. nr j this will be a great disadvan .o us in tho school proposition. witting every available effort to ..rovement and upbuilding of " ir school, and it now is running on a good standard basis, but of course there are more improvements and ad justments to be made this coming year. With the prospects of the vast tim ber resources being cut and marketed soon, which will increase our popula tion as there will be an unlimited amount of employment, and so now it dawns on us in this district und the surrounding ones to draw together and discuss this amendment so that every one will understand it as it has not been published, and those that are unable to get out to tho school meet ings are ignorant of the fact that It will throw us out of a school, only such as you find In the undcrgrnded ones. Tho teachers that are culled out of the valley schools will be sent up here as our, school here will be CORNS Lift Off with Fingers Doesn't hurt a bit I Drop a little "Frcezone" on an aching corn, instantly that corn stops hurting, then shortly you lift it right off with ringers.
