As a part of this campaign, a Made-in-Medfonl week would he eminently fitting. Just as it is important for the people of Oregon to purchase products from their own state rut her than from outside, so il is important for the people of Medford to purchase products from their own city, rather than outside. If a display of .Mude-in-Oregon products is made at the Chamber ( f Commerce building, there should also be a display of Made-in-Mcd-lord products. Medford makes flour, cement products, catsup, ci gars, canned goods, apple juice, boxes, furniture, automobile pails, brooms, and many other things. Let this fact be emphasized and ad vertised by an attractive display. The .Made-in-Oregon week is an ex cellent idea, to include a Made-in-.Medford week, or Mude-in-Jaek-sou county, would be an even better one, and add materially to the effectiveness of the campaign. SOME WEATHER AGAIN. 'TUlhRE is a great deal of weather in the news today. There has A been a great deal of weather for some time. So we suggest to some of our friends with a penchant for lugubrious blue, to read the leports carefully. ' There has been some disposition of late to throw bricks at the weather man. He has given us some nippy mornings, some frosty nights, and consequently .some smudge smoke- There may be more along the same line, for this is a freak season, and light frosts in early May are not unheard of. Hut. whatever the future, let )lr. L. IS. keep the report of what the weather man has done elsewhere. Let him observe balmy Texas, Arkansas, Alabama, Florida and Georgia, and then .just a glimpse at that tourists paradise, Colorado, and so on through Nebraska, Iowa and Illinois. -Scores killed, millions lost by wind and more millions by snow', that is the weather record elsewhere. Can anyone think of a better advertisement than to print the true record of the weather in the Rogue River Valley, with the true record elsewhere? We doubt it. How Much Do You Know? . if an 6 Walt Mason PRESENTIMENTS. AT TIMES I've hail forebodings dire, which made me sad and blue; disaster, like a house afire, would climb my frame, I knew, and I would drop my trusty lyre, and sound the loud boo hoo. "I know that evil's on the way, I feel it in my bones," at times like these I used to say, in melancholy tones, "and hence my pained nlackaday, my moist and mournful moans." And since I thus expected ill, the ill would sometimes come, and hand me a bitter pill that made my innards dumb. But years leave wisdom as they go; they left a 'bunch with me; and now I do not look for woe, but bank on coming glee; there's happiness in store, I know,' and blessings good to sec- At times the dire forebodings strive to get me in their grip, my spirit they would curb and drive and scourge as with u whip, but, where they're dared they cannot thrive I bid the blamed things skip. Presentiments are silly fakes beneath their deadly strain before that weary spirit wake's to know that they are vain. . You best hav "luok" when you GO AETBR it rigkt. There was a merchant who thought the farmer couldn't afford to' wait. . The fanner, was willing to investigate. ' ' '" ' Tho merchant was ready to help. So the two got together, went over the fanner's need of the implement carefully, and figured out the savings that the use of the implement insured. The fanner had considered 'the cost as the main item. The investigation to consider that even at three times its use of the implement was the big thing showed him that the profit through the cost the implement was a good bargain. We want to co-operate with you in the same way. You have the needs; we have the goods. Let's figure out the connection in dollars and cents.
