Mr. Thompson has secured a large number of slides showing the different breeds and types. He also lias a number of slides of Individual animals who have become famous In the livestock world. From these lead ing animals, he will show the different points of merit and the points In their make-up that have made It possible for them to develop their high rec oids. After the lecture the usual discus sion will follow, which Is fast be coming a very important part of tho meetings. At that time Individual problems arc brought out, numerous questions are asked and they are tak en up and answered if it is jothIhIiIc to do so off hail'!, and If not, they are being held over and answered at tho following meeting. This will be tlm last lecture until lifter Farmers' Week, for the week of Japuary 3 to 8 will be a very busy and Instructive one to the farmers of the county. "Listen Lester" presented at tho Tage last night was a very good show, with a good sl.ed house, and a liberal display of shaiiely shanks and lureful lingerie. 7t had no plot worth men tioning, and was replete with tuneful music, augmonted by a male quartette with a powerful bass. Therd were four comedians the best being Fred Holder find Delano Dell, who contorted unexpected and grotesquely. Mr. Francis X. Donegal! did the heavy acting as the lover, and missed no opportunity to show u Bet of the whitest teeth ever Been in tills section. Tho cast was well balanced, and Miss June Roberts was delightful with a couple of songs and a difficult dance. MIsb Roberts also did some high and fanny kicking. ; The chorus was well trnlned and good looking and 'good singers. They showed up to the best advantage In an ensemble near the finish of the second act to represent the nations f the earth and some states. There were four Native Sons present, as that many persoiiB applauded when "'California" majestically strodo down stage. RELIEF PROGRAM FOR U. S. FARMERS IS MADE PUBLIC CHICAGO, Dec. 2 8. A program of legislation destined to provide for agricultural credits wus announced toduy by J. R. Howard, president or the American Farm Ilureuu Federa tion, upon his return from Washing ton, whero the proposal was placed before members of congress. Assur ance thut legislation as outlined would be incorporated In bills to be drafted Immediately was given him by committee members, Mr. Howard said. The federation's proposed relief measures were: Regulatory power over farmers' co-operative marketing associations, should be in the hands of the United States, department of agriculture rather than the federal trade commis sion. - The farmers' co-operative market ing movement must not be hindered 'by tho provisions of the Sherman anti-trust law. The federal rcaerve net should be so amended so as to provide preferen tial rates for loans for productive purposes. The warehousing act should be ex tended to serve the needs of both In dividuals and co-operutive associa tions. Hylan appointed a snow-removal committee to handle the situa tion and this committee organized a series of tests during the month of July in which every manufacturer of track-laying1 tractors were invited to compete. After the investigations were made another -committee for the purpose of purchasing snow-removing equipment superseded the original committee and acted upon its recommendations In purchasing 100 small tank-type tractors, 50 largt crawler-type tractors, abig fleet of trucks as well as plow equipment. The contract for the 100 small tractors was awarded to the Cleve land Tractor company of Cleveland, Ohio, and the machines will he equip ped with winter .tracts, two seated cabs and sirens.
