FAIR 10 BE HELD OFFICERS ELECTED At a niectinsr of the stockholders of the Jackson County Fuir As cinlion held last evening, at the Chamber of Commerce rooms, it was decided to hold a fair this lull. Ar rangements to that end will be per fected at a meeting of the board of directors of the fair association which is to be held very shortly. The following were elected as the board of directors : 0. W. Atrer, and Louis Ulrich of ' Jacksonville; A. N. Wright of Phoenix: Georirc Owen mid D. It Lowe of Ashland: It. W. Kldon of Central I'oint; Fred Ilolliiruiurh and A. W. Frame of Talent: T. V. Ilerriott of Applcsato; Horace l'elion of Sams Valley; George A. Mansfield of Prospect, nnd the following resi dents of Medford: S. I. lirown, John II. Carkin. J. W. Dressier, E. C. Oud "dis, John A. Mann, Dr. J. L. Helm?. 0. ML Kidd, S. S. "Smith, II. L. Wal thers and C. C. Cate. The officers selected were that of president, II. L. Walther, nnd W. II. Gore as treasurer, both re-elected. The selection of vice-presidents and that of a secretary will be delayed until the next board meeting. John II. Carkin is acting secretary, but it will be impossible for him to sorvj the organization in that capacity this yenr. As the fair will be hold on the crounds recently purchased by the county for thut purpose, tho question of salvaging tho grandstand, and stock sheds nnd other building was given consideration and Mr. J. W. Dressier was appointed a committee of one to direct the removal of the buildings from their present location to that of tho new grounds. The most optomistic opinions pro vailed among the stockholders of the possibility of holding an exceedingly good fair this fall and thev desire the co-operation of every resident of the county to make this one of unusual interest. Hauer was committed from Linn county for burglary in 1910 and .his maximum sentence was five years.
