NT. the purchaser is se curing equipment lhat is designed in accordance with the beiit engineering practice und which embodies features found only In highest types of truck designing... In addition to this aro ,'tho exclusive FAHCO features represented In the IWIVBUSAL SLIP JOINT. 9 FAUCO frames are mounted directly on tho standard Ford truck chassis without any changes in Its construction, tho only regular Ford part not used being the transverse jear spring. FAUCO ICquipnient Is based on absolutely sound mechanical principles. It has been tried out under the most severe conditions und has made of the Ford 1-Ton Truck the most efficient 1 Mj -Ton Truck on the market. The FAUCO features which contribute lo this result aro the FAillCO FHAMF, of unusually heavy and well-braced steel construction; tho FAUCO LATERAL SPRINGS, which are capable of carrying 1 ton each with a large margin of safety, eliminating the regular Ford transverse spring entirely; and tho FAUCO UNIVERSAL SLIP JOINT. The Slip Joint, introduced be tween tho Ford engine and the Ford drive shaft tube to provide moans for the extension of the wheel-base, prevents transmission of 'twisting or .torsional strains from the frame to the engine, allows a lateral movement of thu rear axlo under the flexing of the springs.'eliminntes all strains and shock, ordinarily transmitted directly. to thu enginein tho regular Ford design. ; .-, .- llrleriy, tho use of FAUCO Equipment on tho Ford 1-Ton Truck accomplishes the following: ' . 1. It allows an .increased currying capacity of at least fifty per cent. 1. It permits an increased loading space by 1 tho extension of the frame to accommodate tip to a iyo-inch body. ' i U. It Improves the . riding qualities -by. tho use of tho two long lateral springs. . - . 4. It gives perfect balance and correst loca tion of tho rear axlo In relntlon to the. body length by providing a scientifically figured varia tion In the. length of wheel base. 5. It offers a Hotchkisa drlvo) transmitting driving strain direct to tho framo through tho long, flexible lateral springs. . 0. It frees the efficient Ford power plant from all stresses and strains caused by road shock, load shock, twisting of the frame' under difficult road conditions and so lengthens tho motor's life and extends, Its usefulness.
