' The big switchmen's strike has not Grants Pass is financing an irriga tion project which will employ the waters of the Rogue in stabilizing the production of its fertile valley, says the Portland Journal. It is an enter prise which beckons success not only because the feasibility of southern Oregon irrigation has been proven, but because' resident owners .have as sumed responsibility for the project and they have declared that in future sub-divisions the price of land shall be based upon its productivity. Had one or two other southern Oregon communities in the past wisely re strained speculative inflation of land values they would be in more hopeful position today.
