Stevens some time ago and was at one ot the eastern camps ready to go oversea when the war closed. I. A. Merrlman who went up to Camp Lewis a few days ago to see Merrltt, returned home Friday. He found the boy much improved and in the convalescent ward under the care. of Dr. Conroy and hopes that be will be able to get a furlough to come home soon. Geo. H. Eckert who Is general manager of the Oregon Gas and Elec tric company of San Francisco, Is In the city today.
