Inside was the copper tip of a rifle bullet badly dented and on the paper was written in pencil "Private Clarence Swisher, Company I, 44th infantry. Presidio, California. This bullet came from France. Please answer. Mr. Lofland will keep the bullet and the note as a souvenir of the war and will write acknowledging receipt of same. De Voe wants small show case. Jcnnetto had been com; nlnininu for about two weeks, hnd been under a doctor's care for sev eral days, hut it was not until a few hours before the operation that the case whs dincnosed as appendicitis, The operation proved a very serious one and Jcnhette never recovered from the shock. Jcnnetto was confirmed in tho Epis copal church in February, 1018. and wns adive in Sunday school work and n member of the church choir.
