Milton Fraley has left Camp Fre mont, Cal., for overseas duty as mem ber of a machine gun company. His wife, formerly (Miss Gertrude Moore, will return to her home here for the time being. Mrs. Lee Davenport of Portland, chairman of the women's advertising branch of the republican state cen tral committee, has appointed Mrs. D. Mrs. Olive Thorne Hurdle, teacher in tho Garfield, Wash., schools, has returned home, the schools in th"' town, in common with other sections, having been closed indefinitely. Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Denver have lately received word from their son Meredith In France, which indicates in a general way that American troops, among which Meredith Is serving as bugler at commanding headquarters, have been clearing the noted and historical Argonne forest of ll-Iun Invaders. The clearing up process was expeditiously done thru the agency of machine guns.
