Only one balloon was destroyed but the observers In three others were, forced to descend by parachute. Charles Nichul's household goods huvo arrived and for the present they are occupying a house in Cen tral Point. The Parent -Teachers' meeting at Mrs. Iloagland's Inst Saturday was a very enoyablc affair. Miss Anne McCurniick was present and expects to be with the ladies at each meeting during- the fall and winter. She has n new line of study mapped out that should prove very interesting and in structive. Two ladies from Ashland spoke in tho interest of the new Southern Oregon State Normal, they hope to establish in that city. Mi's. J; W. Klden entertained at dinner last Sunday evening in honor of Miss Hose Jones' birthday. A number of young people from this vicinity attended the play ut the Page Tuesday evening.
