One package proves it 25catalldnifjgi;:j. ; Gus Stlnnon, former well known Medford young man, 27 years old, and loyal California-Oregon Power company employe, who had been Hy ing for a year pant at Klamath Falls, to which city he was transferred hy the company, met with a tragic death last Saturday afternoon when 'he was electrocuted while working on u power company pole. Mr. Stlnson who had many friends In the city Is survived by bis wife and son at Klamath Falls, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Stinson of this city. News of tho accident reached iMedford last night when Klamath Falls Elks telephoned the news to Medford Elks. Mr. Stinson was a member of the local Elks lodge, and for years before entering the employ ot the 'power company followed his trade of stone mason. Funeral arrangements had not been completed this afternoon. According to the report phoned to Medford last night Mr. Stinson was working as a lineman on a power company pole at Klamath Falls or near that city, when the cllmher at tached to one of his feet slipped. Altho at the time he was wearing a safety belt, which would have pre- vented his falling, unconsciously when his foot slipped he reached to grasp the nearest object with his hand, which proved to be a power wire of 4000 volts of electricity. Death is thought to have been In stantaneous or practically so. Ills body fell hack from the pole, heiug held by the Bafety strap and climber of tho other foot, until It was tuken down. ; SALF.M, Oro., Jul y 1. Most of the smoke Is from the forest fire burning In the Ii 111k west of Tolo. Five men were sent by the county association this morning to help fight a new fire which had broken out In the Buck creek section of the Butte Falls neighborhood. The fires which had been burning In the San tlam district of the Butte Falls neighborhood were reported Mondny as being under control. Three fires in association territory are burning In the Elk creek section, which have not yet assumed serious proportions. Federal Forest Supervisor Rankin returned late Saturday from the big forest fire which has been raging in the Klamath Indian reservation and part of the Crater national forest for over a week. He confirmed the report reaching the city Saturday that this fire had already burned over 20,000 acres. ( Supervisor Rankin lett this morn ing with a crew of 20 men to fight the large fire which has been burn ing In the Rabbits Ears section of the Prospect territory up on the Umpqua divide. This fire Is assum ing serious proportions. The Bolshevik government has surrendered to Ger many a part of the Russian Black sea fleet which fled to Novo Rossysk when the Germans captured Sebasto pol, says an official telegram from Moscow. The other ships ot the fleet were blown up by their crews. Ger many has promised not, to use the warships and to return them to Rus sia after the conclusion of peace. MOSCOW, June 23. (By the As-J sedated Press.) Only one dread naught and three destroyers of the Russian Black sea fleet were return ed to Sevastopol in compliance with the German demand, the correspon dent is reliably informed.
