I FAMINE C01II1S Tho valley will soon liuve a new fruit industrial concern which will afford a local market for nn enor mous (innntlty of cull apples, anl be sides will give employment to about fifly persons during the working sea son of several months. K. M. MeKeany, tho well-known local fruit man, and W. 0. Allen, a well-known fruit man of Salem, havo formed a partnership and have leased the Central Point packing house for threo years, which they will turn Into, a largo apple drying concern. They will operate under the name Allen & MeKeany, Applo company. Tho new concern wll begin operat ing within ten days, just as soon as tho furnace, dryer and crates have been installed. Messrs. MeKeany and Allen have already made arrange-, moots with packing houses and or chardlsts of the valley to tako from them 400 tons of cull apples this fall, which will bo dried at the Cen tral Point plant.
