(.Member of Board of Governors of Ar'ro Club of America and Ameri ca's Foremost Authority on Aero- untitles.) XBW YORK. Keb. 13. It Is unite true Zeppelins, in case of war between the Ullltpd stat09 nnd Germany could cross the Atlantic ocean easily, but they would have to contend with tho anti-aircraft guns of every one of tho allied ships which are patrolling the Atlantic, as well as the seaplanes that are on board of somo of the al lied ships. In adltlon the ships of our own navy are now, or will be I ranidlv eutilnncd with anti-aircraft I guns. Xoeil Zeppelin lliiso. Besides, to mako more than one raid, the Zeppelin would need to have a biue somewhere on tho American continent, nnd wo can hardly bellove it would bo possible for tho Germans to establish such a base under pres ent conditions. Germany is simpposcd to have close to 100 Zeppelins in commission or about to bo placed in commission. She has lost about 30, brought down by tho allies' airplanes and anti-aircraft guns. While tho contingency of a Zeppe line raid is remote, tho damage that could be done to a city like New York by oven a single raid, is enormous. A single bomb falling on one of the largo buildings of tho downtown sec tions of the city would kill thous ands, besides doing an Immense amount of property damage.
