The attempted suicide came as a result of a family quarrel. When officer Crawford was sum moned he found Deadmoud holding his wife, who had a rope about her neck. Crawford and Deadmoud at tempted to ij u let the woman by talk ing. She broke away from them sud denly, ran to the back porch, threw the rope over a projecting timber und jumped. Crawford also swung out on the rope, it broke and both landed in a heap on the ground. . The woman way, taken into cus tody, but later was released when Iter husband furnished bond.
