' The CotnpliilnL The complaint as filed in the jus tice's court rends as follows lu the justice court of the state of Oregon, for Bedford district, Jack son county. State of Oregon, plnintiff, vs. II. C. Kentner, defendant. Criminal complaint. State of Oregon, county of Jack son. SS. F. E. Merrick under oath accuses 11. C. Kentncr by" this complaint of the crime of embczuement commit ted as follows, to-wit That the said II. C. Kentncr on the third day of March, 1013, h. the coun ty of Jackson and state of "Oregon, then and there bcinc nnd then nnd there being a trusted employe, to-wit: The manager of the II. O. Kentncr company, an Oregon corporation, and by virtue of such employment mid etitrustment then niid there hnviug tho custody, pos session and control of tho moneys, funds, good and chattels of the aaid II. C Kentner company, did then and there unlawfully and felon iously tako, uteal and enrry away with tho intent then and there to cniberzle and appropriate to his own use the sum of $-10, lawful money of tho United Stales, the particular do nomination of said money being to thin complaintanl unknown, out of tho moneys and funds of the said II. Total Amount $i:t,000 The total amount of goods and cah belonging to the corporation which Kentncr is said to have em bezzled ii tnorcthati $13,000 accord ing to rejHirts. It is said that ho is tikurt this amount over nnd nbovo a ' salary of $300 a month which lie drew when he was only supposed to draw $175. It is also reported that Wal ter Kentncr, his son, who is asso ciated with him, has overdrawn bis salary account $1000, but that this is due to the father, not the sou. The $13,000 shortage is said to range over n long period of time nnd consisted mostly of cash, although a certain nmoiinl of goods arc charged. A report that ho refused to answer telephone calls wan duo to the serious illness of his son, tho telephone bell being quieted.
