Tho audicueewns a ery large nnd nppreeintivo one. Many people weie here from the ad joining towns. This bringing unusu ally fine talent to Medford is a good and worthy work for the Klks It requires a local organization of this kind to make the big things pay, and the Elks nre the boy to give Med ford the high class musical attrac tions that need special work. The program wns well cho-cn, being large ly made up of populur music of the better class-. There wns, however, three classic numbers which were well rendered. The director, William II. Sautclmauu, as a director of a military band, is a good one, but his interpretation of Wagner is wide "f the mark. He has no idea of the del icate shading required in Wagnerian music; neither has Soua for that matter. There is a wide difference hi directing a military band nnd rend ering a classical program. , ED ANDREWS. Notice To Fruit Growers.
