Frank Kirri was convicted In tho fed eral court at Portland last week for incendiarism on the Crater national forest and sentenced to two months' imprisqnment., Kirri set a fire lon; the trail leading from Huckleberry mountain and, while the fire was discovered and extinguished, before it did any material damage, ho had violated a federal statute and now has an opportunity to repent his act while doing duty in the federal pen itentiary. Mr- Kirri was a resident of California. This is ono of the three fire cases sent up before the federal courts. Convictions in each instance wero made, but the sentence imposed by Judgo Wolverton has not yet been given out. Ono of these cases involves the big fire last summer on Elk creek, In other districts throughout Ore gon and Washington several Indict ments have been retijrned t by the federal grand Jury and somo peni tentiary sentences are expected.
