this purpose they left Hunday for Hacra-mento.
Miss Carmen Illttson, daughter of
Chief of Police Illttson, had her rlRht
leR broken Hunda ypvenlnfr when a horse
ridden by her slipped and fell to the
pavement.
In company with a friend, Miss Illtt
son was rldlnR on Kant Main street and
when a short distance from the cost
approach of the Hear creek brldRe her
horse became frightened at a pile of ties
lylnR at the side of the road and shied.
In some manner the horse lost Its
footlnR and fell before Miss Illttson
could leap from the saddle.
Her escort went to her assistance Im
mediately as did two young gentlemen
who chanced to be driving by, and she
was hurried to her home, where a physi
cian was called.
The Hmall bone ot the lower limb was
found to be broken midway between the
knee and ankle and a cast was employed
to hold It In place. She will bo confined
to her home for some time.

to Arizona and later to I;oh Angeles In

was unsuccessful.
