Lynch of Syracuse university, who has been engaged to coach the 'varsity base ball team, called out the candidates Monday afternoon and has been put ting tho men through a series of workouts. Coach Lynch played two seasons on the Syracuse nine and since his graduation has been coach ing baseball teams. Ho coached the freshmen team at Syracuse ono sea son and has turned out winning teams from Dubois and Lincoln high school. About 40 men are out for baseball and among the candidates is a lot of likely material. Among the new men trying for a position in the pitching department aro Houck of Portland and Pcto of Sumpter.
