SAN FRANCISCO, Cnl., Aug. 12. No political candidate in Culifor jua may hope for n single vote from the union labor party unless ho pledges himself publicly to fight for anti-Asiatic immigration and anti land ownership by Asiatics. Mem bers of the Asiatic exclusion league, a branch of the union lobor party, are now at work on announced and prospective candidates to hue tJnm up for u renewal of the fight at tin! next session of the California as sembly to make more rigid tun ex clusion of Asiatics. Union labor in California is deter mined to push the exclusion fighi larder this year than ever and net to submit to a checkmnto by the fed eral authorites, as was the cause two years ago, when Colonel Roosevelt, then president, took a hand in tlio ag itation and succeeded in putting a stop to the drastic legislation that was proposed. 'Plln AVtlneinti Innrritn tc iiiitniit-rwl over the report of John D. Mac Kenzic, state labor commihioner, which makes it appear that Japanese and other oriental labor is necessnry I for the proper development of Cnl-' ifornia's recources. The., league' charges MnnKpuzin with . nmnlnviiio I Japanese to secure muyliyof the data in his report which wjJJ bo presented to the legislature, during the winter sssiou, The report it is charged, in the interest of the railroads which nro employing a large number of cheap laborers. It is practically certain that thoro will bo a revival of the diplomatic war with Japan. Butlenders declare that such talk -will not hnvo nny deterring effect this time.
