The Woods Lumber company has secured tho contract to turnbh the lumber for tho now depot now under construction at Medford and Grants i'ass. ' Tho contracts Involve tho delivery of some 150,000 feet of lumber to bo used In tho construction of the de pots, and will bo furnished from tho Clendalo mills of tho Woods Lumber company. That a Medford lumber company should secure thb Important contract over competitors all over tho western and southern part of the state Is a feather In tho cap of tho Woods Lum-; ber company and shows tho enterprise and ability ot Its managers. NATIONAL MOVE STARTED TO STOP BIO PRIZE FIGHT Methodist Ministers of Cincinnati Launch Campaign to Prevent Jeffries-Johnson Mill In July Will Appeal to Governor. CINCINNATI O., April 20. Methodist ministers of Cincinnati to day started what they intend shall bo a national movement to prevent tho Jeffries-Johnsou fight at Emery ville, Cnl., ou July 4. Tho plan of campaign outlined by tho ministers iucludes an appeal to every Methodist church in the nation to exorcise its influence to prevent the battle. A resolution adopted by n mass meeting of tho local Methodist clorgymen contains tho following paragraph : "That tho permission of this fight can be regarded as nothing less than a national disgraco and n calamity to tho moral life of our people ; that tho Cincinnati Methodist Ministers' asso ciation protests against tho permis sion of tho fight and that wo invito tho ministers of all denominations in tho stato of Ohio and of ovory othor state and territory in tho Union to stir their pcoplo to unito in protest to tho governor of California against tho permission of this fight."
