The new herd law that goes Into effect in Morrow county, May 25th, Is the same as the Sherman county law that has been In effect the past few years. The law Is to prevent all stock from running at large In any part of the county and provides for the taking up and impounding of such stock . by any person. Parties . taking up such stock are required, without unneces sary delay, to give notice of such' tak ing up, which notice shall contain a concise description of such, animals, , with the marks and brands so that the owner may identify the same, and shall also state that such stock will be sold unless redeemed, giving time and place of sale, either by delivering a copy of such notice to theN owner in person If residents of the county and are known to the person so taking up, or by causing a copy of such notice to be published in a newspaper of general circulation within the county. In case the stock so advertised is not redeemed and sale. Is' made, the person so taking up shall submit, to three disinterested parties, the amount for damages and charges for so keep ing. Within ten days after making the sale a full report of the proceedings In writing, under oath, stating the a mount of .damages,, costs and expenses so allowed, the d ascription of the ani mal or animals, date of sale, to whom sold, and (or what sum, and the over plus, if there be any . After deducting the amount for damages etc, the bal ance, if any shall be deposited with the county treasurer ani his receipt taken therefore, which together with the report must be filed with the county clerk. This law provides also, for the owner or owners upon making satis factory proof shall be entitled to a warrant on the county Treasurer for such balance, without interest, at any time within five years after the sale.
