While In conversation with Dr. R. C. Hunter the other day. he told us that in southern Oregon and California farmers were raising mangel wurtzels for cow feed. They are a great milk producer and in th alkali soils they raise 30 to 40 tons per acre. He says they plant them about 8 inches apart in rows not less than two feet apart.
