Please enjoy this free sample of the MEET THE EDITOR www.HermistonHerald.com WELCOME TO THE NEW HERMISTON HERALD In the coming weeks and months, the Hermiston Herald will be reinventing itself in an effort to reach more people in the greater Hermiston area by providing the news and information that is most important and relevant to our community. That effort starts with a new look and a change in our print distribution schedule — the Herald now comes out in print exclusively on Wednesdays — but it doesn’t end there. The issue you are reading now is an effort to get the newspaper in the hands of people who may not have read the Herald in a long time, or perhaps have never seen it. We hope you like what you see enough to choose to subscribe, pick it up regularly at a newsstand, or turn to our website at www.hermistonherald.com to see what is new in our community. You will also be able to find links to some of our stories through our Facebook page and through our Twitter account online. We want to put out the best possible newspaper for you but we are going to need your help to tailor our coverage to the needs of our community. So please tell us what you like about the paper and we also need to know things you do not like so we can best decide how we will use our staff time and print space to cover the things most important to our community. Thank you for taking a fresh look at the new-look Herald. We also encourage you to take a look at the advertisers in this issue who are the backbone of our growing community. The are also supporting the mission of making sure Hermiston and the Hermiston Herald have a local-based news, circulation and advertising team to serve readers and businesses here. Thank you for your time. We hope you will make the Hermiston Herald a regular part of your week. Gary L. West Editor of the Hermiston Herald GARY L. WEST Hermiston Herald Editor 333 E.
