Of much interest to their many local friends, was the wedding Sunday of Miss Patty Emert, daughter of Mrs. W. A. Emert, and Lee Pettyjohn, Platoon Sgt., U. S. Marines, son of Noah Petty john of Ione. The ceremony was performed at 5:00 o'clock in the Christian church parsonage in Pendleton with Rev. O. D. Harris, pastor, officiating at a double ring ceremony. Near relatives were present at the quiet ceremo ny. Mrs. Pettyjohn wore a white satin wedding dress with finger tip veil, and carried a white Tes- | tament and an orchid. The groom was in uniform of the U. S. Ma rines. Following, a wedding din- | ner was enjoyed at the Pendleton Hotel with a small group of friends present. Mr. Pettyjohn, who recently re turned from 26 months of service in the South Pacific war zone, will report to his base in San Diego soon. He will be accompanied there by Mrs. Pettyjohn, their fu ture plans depending on his or-! ders. Mrs. Pettyjohn is a graduate of Hermiston high school and in re cent years has been employed at Moore’s furniture store.
