Mrs. Lillian Rutledge has word that her son William has been transferred to a Texas camp. Mr. and Mrs. Hoagland of Stanfield are caring for the three oldest Hoag land children while Mrs. Maynard Hoagland is in the Ordnance hospi tal where she had an operation for appendicitis and will soon be home. The high school had a pie social and barn dance at the school gym Satur day evening. Edward C. Elliot, coach at Union high school, will teach in Irrigon next fall. Mrs. Elliot will also teach here. Mr. Elliot was a former teacher at Umatilla. All of the local teachers have signed up to teach elsewhere, so a new staff will be present in Septem ber. UMATILLA NEWS By Mrt.
