It de pends upon where you’re standing! i In Hermiston January 13, 1942, you dedicated the U.S.O. club, which cele brated its second birthday several weeks ago. Nationally, U.S.O. began celebrating its third anniversary on February 4, 1944. From the begin- ning U.S.O. has served in many mili- tary and industrial areas and it has been now announced from U.S.O. na- tional headquarters that there are 30,000,000 people taking advantage of U.S.O. facilities per month. Locally the U.S.O. council and its executive committee, composed of L. C. Smith, chairman, Rev. H. V. Mc Gee, vice chairman, and Mrs. H. C. Sutch, secretary, wish to extend to the entire community a welcome to all of the U.S.O. activities at both Her miston and Ordnance City. As the U.S.O. anniversary of three years is being celebrated on a nation- wide scale, the local council invites all war workers and citizens of the community to participate in all future U.S.O. programs. There will be a Boy Scout Council of Awards at 7:30 p. m. Wednesday, February 9. Every- one who is interested in Scouting is invited to this event. On February 19th, the U.O.D. Ebployees Associa tion is sponsoring a real, live radio broadcast from the U.S.O. club. This will be one of the biggest shows that ever took place in Hermiston and the U.S.O. council cordially invites every one to attend. So—what are you looking at?
