By U. S. O. Staff
What are you looking at? It de
pends upon where you’re standing!
i In Hermiston January 13, 1942, you
dedicated the U.S.O. club, which cele
brated its second birthday several
weeks ago. Nationally, U.S.O. began
celebrating its third anniversary on
February 4, 1944. From the begin-
ning U.S.O. has served in many mili-
tary and industrial areas and it has
been now announced from U.S.O. na-
tional headquarters that there are
30,000,000 people taking advantage of
U.S.O. facilities per month.
Locally the U.S.O. council and its
executive committee, composed of L.
C. Smith, chairman, Rev. H. V. Mc
Gee, vice chairman, and Mrs. H. C.
Sutch, secretary, wish to extend to
the entire community a welcome to all
of the U.S.O. activities at both Her
miston and Ordnance City.
As the U.S.O. anniversary of three
years is being celebrated on a nation-
wide scale, the local council invites
all war workers and citizens of the
community to participate in all future
U.S.O. programs. There will be a Boy
Scout Council of Awards at 7:30 p.
m. Wednesday, February 9. Every-
one who is interested in Scouting is
invited to this event. On February
19th, the U.O.D. Ebployees Associa
tion is sponsoring a real, live radio
broadcast from the U.S.O. club. This
will be one of the biggest shows that
ever took place in Hermiston and the
U.S.O. council cordially invites every
one to attend.
So—what are you looking at? It’s
just exactly what you want at your
U.S.O. Come on down to U.S.O. and
be a part of the anniversary of the
U.S.O.’s third year.
