BUSY PLAN NEW TERM Many gay and festive parties and programs have been planned at the Hermiston U.S.O. club for the holiday season. The U.S.O. council and the U.S.O. staff want everyone, young and old, to atend any or all of the fol lowing events: Pre-Christmas dance Friday night | at 9:00 o’clock. The huge community Christmas sing and music program will be Sunday, December 19, at 4:30 P. M. A children’s party for the first four grades will be Monday, December 20, at 4:00 P. M. A Christmas program and commun ity sing will be held at Ordnance in the recreation hall Tuesday at 7:30 p. M. A military formal Christmas ball is scheduled for Wednesday, Decern- ber 22, at the U. S. O. club, sponsored by the Junior Hostesses. A Christmas party for fifth, sixth, The adult night commercial classes conclude their first term of work in January. Inquiries have been coming in about when new classes will begin. Miss Thomas, instructor, reports that registration for second term courses in typing and shorthand will be Wed nesday night. January 5, at the high school. Classes which began in October will continue with their second term of work. Good work has been done by these classes, and fine progress has been shown. Classes are held Monday and Wed- nesday nights, from seven to nine. Those wishing to begin typing or shorthand courses may do so, and those who want to “brush up" so that they may fill clerical positions are urged to drop a card to Miss Helen Thomas, Box 573, or register on Jan- uary 5 as classes begin January 11.
